2018 saw McBrine graduate as valedictorian from Holbrook Middle-Senior High School. She was awarded the Daron Jean Baptiste Memorial Scholarship as well as a Worcester Polytechnic Institute tuition scholarship.
Rachel earned a degree in biology and biotechnology from WPI in May 2022. She worked as a lab worker at the Dana Farber Cancer Center in the Boston region. Ms. McBrine wanted to build her research lab and pursue a Ph.D. Outside of work, Rachel is interested in a range of things. She liked to read, sing, cook (Asian cuisine was her favorite), crochet, and she could convert a picture into a piece of art.
It was hard for her not to add to her collection anytime she passed a store’s gardening area since she had a little obsession with plants. Rachel was an ardent supporter of social justice and truly believed that everyone deserved to be treated equally.
