Martin Menem is an Argentine politician, lawyer, and entrepreneur who is now the Provincial Deputy of La Rioja representing La Libertad Avanza. During that period, he became aware of the Gentech idea. During a trip to the United States in 1997, he came across a hall packed with various brands and types of dietary supplements. Meanwhile, Menem has stated that he is engaged in management rather than national politics, thus he will run for the top provincial seat in a province that is the polar opposite of libertarian thought, with the State everywhere.

Furthermore, Menem is gaining popularity, and Javier Milei, the deputy and presidential contender, traveled to La Rioja to assist Martin. In September 2022, Martin joined Milei on a tour of Buenos Aires; the Riojan government wanted to fire him because he raised reservations about the assault on Vice President Cristina Kirchner.
