She was a star player at Duke University, where she was named the WBCA National Defensive Player of the Year and ACC Player of the Year in 2007. She and former teammate Alana Beard became the first two Duke women’s college basketball players to have their jersey numbers retired by the school. She was born in Mobile, Alabama, and was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team in her first season at Duke.
