Harper Finn, a 5-year-old girl from Altamont in southern Illinois, lost her life in a terrible event that happened at the Effingham County Fair, as was previously noted.

She was struck during a harness race by a starting gate that was pulled into the grandstand by an automobile that didn’t shut all the way.

Harper was evacuated to St. Louis Children’s Hospital after being taken to a nearby hospital, where she died on Wednesday night.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is still conducting investigations into the event, and the fair halted races as a result.

The outpouring of sympathy and support from friends, neighbors, and the community helps them through their bereavement.

Although Harper is no longer with us, her generosity and memory will always bear witness to her exceptional personality. Her disappearance leaves an indelible vacuum.

Her loss is a heartbreaking reminder to live life to the fullest, be nice to others, and keep her kind and loving spirit alive in our hearts.
