The late George Younce, the bass vocalist for The Cathedrals Quartet and the father-in-law of Ernie Haase, was instrumental in the couple’s meeting and subsequent marriage. In particular, Younce taught the young and talented Ernie, who had first witnessed Younce’s extraordinary abilities at a concert.
When Mr. Younce heard Haase sing, he was so blown away that he immediately offered him a seat in his band. Naturally, young Ernie couldn’t refuse a chance like that, so he accepted the offer. If only he had understood how much his life would change as a result of the deal.
